O’Dell Cross was originally formed in 1986 by Don O’Dell after his work in the private industry. The firm began as Don O’Dell, C.P.A. and has undergone many transformations in recent years. Nikki Cross joined Don’s firm in 1992 as a junior staff accountant, and the two formed a partnership in late 1999, creating “O’Dell Cross & Company.” The firm moved its operations into a new office and began what would become yet another transformation into the new entity of “O’Dell Cross, A Professional Corporation.”

Nikki is a Certified Public Accountant and is the Managing Partner/CEO of O’Dell Cross. In addition, she serves as the head of our Accounting and Auditing Department for our firm. She has a passion for helping small business owners, individuals, and nonprofit organizations to manage and grow their overall financial well-being. With a strong accounting and tax background, Nikki provides her clients with expert advice, professionalism, responsiveness, and peace of mind.
She was born and raised in Bakersfield, California with a passion to serve her community by providing knowledge and expertise in financial success. One of her biggest goals and achievements was providing a family environment for her team, clients, and self. Nikki prides herself in making sure each client receives genuine care and service to help reach their goals.
When she is not working you can find her spending time with her husband, daughters, and pet pig, Little Miss Sassy Pants. She loves to travel and all things Nascar. Both her work and family experience have allowed Nikki to easily navigate through the financial world, giving her clients and family sound advice for careful planning to fulfill their long-term and short-term goals.

As a dedicated and detailed orientated accounting professional, Don began meeting the accounting needs of small businesses and individuals in 1986 when he originally formed O’Dell Cross. The firm began as Don O’Dell, C.P.A until Don and Nikki formed a partnership in 1999, creating O’Dell Cross & Company. Don is a Certified Public Accountant and Chief Financial Officer who oversees both individual and business taxes, tax planning, and more. He is a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist and can assist individuals and businesses in managing and resolving tax issues and installment agreements. He specializes in tax return and preparation services, tax coaching strategies, and serves as CFO for some of our clients at O’Dell Cross.
Don was born and raised in Bakersfield, California, and has a passion for helping clients develop financial strategies to help them better manage a successful business. His time is devoted to helping his clients save money with proactive tax planning and strategic business development.
In addition to his work and dedication to O’Dell Cross, Don served in the United States Navy for four years. Shortly after he returned to Bakersfield, Don married his wife, Beverly. When he is not working, he is reading, listening to music, or vacationing with his family.
Don is proud to work at O’Dell Cross, which he considers family and is eager to continue to help his team and clients to navigate the financial world.
Sandra Self
Department Head & Lead Bookkeeper

Sandra Self is the Department Head and Lead Bookkeeper at O’Dell Cross. She has been a part of our firm since 2013 and is efficient in completing daily business bookkeeping, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations for clients. In addition, Sandra works with clients to set up QuickBooks, prepare correspondences with various government entities to resolve issues, and more.
She is currently attending Oregon State working on her bachelor’s in Science of Human Development and Family Sciences. In her free time, she loves to read books, hang out with friends, and experience new food and culture. Sandra loves to travel and enjoys working at O’Dell Cross while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Kylee Cross is the Firm Administrator, Marketing and Billing Manager at O’Dell Cross. She oversees our billing department, client communication, tax season, marketing, and internal payroll. Kylee grew up working in the office alongside , as her mother is Nikki Cross, CEO of O’Dell Cross. She officially became a part of the team in August 2018 and has worked her way into management.
When she is not at work, Kylee is taking care of her animals, going to the shooting range, and hunting or fishing. She enjoys working at O’Dell Cross because of the teamwork and office environment.
